Abstract
This article investigates the potential use of the solid residue obtained from the processing of spent vanadium catalysts generated in sulfuric acid production as a carrier for new catalysts. Samples prepared based on mixed carriers consisting of natural diatomite, white silica (silica gel), and residues from spent catalysts were compared in terms of composition, porosity, mechanical strength, and SO₂ oxidation degree. The obtained results demonstrated the possibility of waste-free reuse of spent catalysts, as well as the improvement of mechanical strength through modification with MgO.
