Abstract
The article presents data on the results obtained in the process of obtaining
nitric acid from different raw materials (potassium, sodium and calcium nitrates). The influence of
the main process parameters (concentration and rates of sulfuric acid, temperature, heating
duration) in obtaining nitric acid from potassium and sodium nitrates on the concentration and
yield of nitric acid was studied. Optimum parameters for obtaining nitric acid were determined.
The concentration of nitric acid obtained with optimal parameters is 77.42–90.07%, and the yield
is 97.13–98.53%. Optimum parameters for obtaining nitric acid based on calcium nitrate were also
studied: the concentration of nitric acid is 73.86–88.07%, the yield is 81.25–86.28%. The obtained
nitric acid can be used in the production of explosives, paints, plastics, nitro varnishes, films and
other important products.
